My Background:
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRS) based in northwest Montana. I completed my Masters degree at Naropa University in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy.
I began working in the mental health field in 2006 and have supported many adolescents, adults, and families in returning towards health and healing in their lives. Clinical settings I have worked include: outpatient treatment, residential treatment, a variety of wilderness therapy programs, school-based systems, and transition programs anchored within the community.
My Approach:
I am passionate about seeing and bringing forward the bright light that exists in all of us, in spite of (or perhaps because of) our past stories and struggles. I believe the therapist/client relationship is incredibly powerful – shaped by curiosity, intention, and care. Whether in the office or outdoors, it’s safe relationship that allows corrective experience and healing to be possible. I will bring my full self to session and invite you to do the same so we can effectively disrupt whatever patterns or stories that need to evolve. Sessions might include the use of: metaphor, parts work, somatic awareness, creative coping skills, art, movement, play, mindfulness, positive psychology, ACT, or curious reflection. Nature-based practices or healing rituals/ceremonies may also be powerful interventions to support your journey. Overall, my approach honors where you’ve been while exploring what’s possible. I respond to what you bring to the table to know what tools or approach needs to come with us.
